 CABARET - April 13 to 28
CABARET - April 13 to 28-tn "Cabaret is the multi award-winning musical set in 1930s Berlin during the Nazi's rise to power. The story revolves around two different relationships that are threatened by the political turmoil of the times, set against the provocative commentary and entertainment presented at the Kit-Kat Klub. English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and young American writer Cliff Bradshaw are drawn to each other as they endeavour to escape the rigid social structures of their own countries as they indulge in the social and sexual freedoms of 1930's Berlin. This is in contrast with the gentle, conservative relationship that blossoms between the older couple, Fraulein Schneider a German boarding-house owner and her elderly Jewish suitor, Herr Schultz. Overseeing the action is the 'Master of Ceremonies' at the Kit Kat Klub, a location which serves as a constant metaphor for the fragile and threatening state of late Weimar Germany. Cabaret features some of the greatest musical songs ever written, including -"Wilkommen," "Two Ladies," "Tomorrow belongs to me" and of course - "Cabaret." What good is sitting alone in your room when you can come to Hobart Rep's stylish, thought-provoking, entertaining and moving production of Cabaret!" Direction: Allan Jeffrey. Musical Direction by: Petr Divis. Book: Christopher Isherwood. Music: John Kander. Lyrics: Fred Ebb.

The Choir consists of eighteen voices, comprising five sopranos, four altos/counter-tenors, four tenors and five basses, together with the College Organist, David Macfarlane. Each position in the Choir attracts a scholarship as an acknowledgement of the required commitment and standard expected of each chorister. The Choir participates in a Choral Eucharist at 7:00pm on each Sunday during the Academic Term and in a Compline service once per month on a Thursday night. The Choir sings extensively in a number of services during Holy Week and in the Newman College Carol Service, held on the first Sunday of December. The Choir's Concert Series comprises three concerts per year held in the magnificent acoustics of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit and the College Dining Hall. Highlights of past concert series have included Christmas at Versailles, a dinner-concert in collaboration with Maggie Beer, a reconstruction of J.S. Bach's lost St Mark Passion, three productions of Medieval plays, a performance of Tallis’s forty-voice Spem in alium, and a number of projects in combination with exponents of Early Music and World Music. Gary Ekkel is a leading Australian interpreter of choral and Early Music. He commenced his instrumental studies on the modern flute and recorder but turned to baroque flute as his main focus in 1983. His formative training in Early Music, was with Hartley Newnham, Ruth Wilkinson and Hans-Dieter Michatz in the late 1970s and early 1980s. During 1986-87 he received a Netherlands Government Scholarship to study Gregorian chant, sacred music and baroque flute under Barthold Kuijken at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague. He has since graduated with a Masters degree in Performance at the University of Melbourne in 1988 and a Doctorate in the analysis of Renaissance choral music at the same university in 1997. Under the auspices of an M.A. Bartlett Research scholarship, he conducted research on the music of the Josquin generation at the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris and the Centre d'Etudes Superieures de la Renaissance in Tours, France in 1993 and 1994. Prior to founding the Schola Cantorum of Melbourne, he was the Assistant conductor of the Choir of Ormond College under Douglas Lawrence. In 1996 he was appointed Director of Choral Music at St Michael's Grammar School. He has been the conductor of Schola Cantorum of Melbourne since its inception in 1994. David Macfarlane studied organ at the NSW State Conservatorium of Music, and musicology at the University of Sydney where he was the organ scholar. From early in his studies, David has been particularly interested in historically informed performances of keyboard and choral music from the earliest manuscript sources through to the music of contemporary composers. After graduating, David moved to Austria, where he studied in and graduated from the church music and performance departments of the University for Performing Arts, Vienna. There, his keyboard teachers included Michael Radulescu (organ and improvisation), Gordon Murray (harpsichord), Erwin Ortner (conducting), and Augusta Campagna (continuo). Masterclasses gave David the opportunity to work with other leading European musicians, including Ton Koopman, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden, Susan Landale, Peter Hurford, Rudi Meyer and Marie-Claire Alain. David was active as a performer and repetiteur whilst based in Europe. He was the Director of Music at Salvator am Wienerfeld where he officiated on the historically classified 1741 Dacci organ.  Putt & Play Mini Golf Systems, putt putt, mini golf, minature golf, mini golf Australia, mini golf contractors,   How to get started!
Putt & Play Mini Golf Systems, putt putt, mini golf, minature golf, mini golf Australia, mini golf contractors,-tn Looking for a mini golf , putt putt course, minature golf? Craig Bartlett's Putt & Play business models are a complete system for financing, installing, and running a mini golf operation. The system is designed to work in a new location or within an already established business, fitting like a glove into existing infrastructure to create substantial reductions on investment costs, and to improve business at the existing establishment. The Mini Golf systems can be placed anywhere in the world. The proposition provides tempting economics for investors and has the ability to revitalise a stale business with existing land and infrastructure. The concept has been proven on four large scale, world-class mini golf courses. Two are located in Tasmania and Two in Queensland. The first course has been operating for 9 years now and is located at Grindelwald Resort in Launceston Tasmania. The second is at Barilla Holiday Park, Hobart. This course had its 1st birthday Easter Holidays 2007. The 3rd course was opened December 2006 at Victoria Park Golf Complex, in the centre of Brisbane, Hurston Rd, Hurston. The forth and most recent project was at Parkswood International Golf Course at Parkwood, Surfers Paridsise. In all four cases, the mini golf system revolutionised the existing business, added value to their property, and brought substantial gains to the host business and investors alike. In addition to our 18 Hole Mini Golf Business Models we also have a new concept called Putt & Play Putting Ranges. An 18 hole course takes up an area of between 2,000 and 3,500 square meters of land area. Putting Ranges fit into smaller areas, and are prefab.
