VISION TRAINING:

Following vision testing it may be recommended that a person undertake vision training:

The reasons for this may be:
1) Visually based learning difficulties
2) Weakness in mechanical eye skills – converging eyes, diverging eyes, tracking objects, maintaining near focus, changing focus
3) Focusing delays- span of focus, focus flexibility or focus ranges
4) Strabismus (eye turn)
5) Amblyopia (lazy eye)
6) Visual Perceptual delays
7) Sight problems – induced myopia, environmentally aggravated progressive prescription changes. Non-functional increased dependency on glasses.
8) Depth perception problems
9) Sports vision requirements
10) Occupational needs

Vision training is a programme of set activities designed to improve the skills in a general sense that can then be integrated and applied to any specific tasks required. It can be designed as a home or in-office programme (or combination) depending on the underlying problem and the level of knowledge and monitoring needed to get the changes required.

Some programmes may have similar elements with different emphasis and order.

Costs will vary from time to time but vision training programme fees include a refundable deposit for the return of all loan equipment in good order. Any equipment lost or damaged will be paid for by the individual or family loaned to.
