CONTACT LENSES:
Contact lenses provide an aesthetically pleasing solution to vision correction giving you the freedom and convenience to live life your way. They provide clear vision without the need for glasses. In many cases wearing contact lenses results in better vision than when wearing spectacles.
You can wear contact lenses every day or you may prefer to wear them only occasionally or for sport or special events.
Soft contact lenses are soft plastic lenses worn on the eye. This means that most people won’t
know you are wearing them and there are no peripheral distortions and no reflections on the lens
surface, as is the case with some glasses.
Non-disposable contact lenses generally last one year and are designed to be cleaned and disinfected after each wear and protein cleaned weekly. They are used when disposable lenses cannot be used by virtue of lens power or corneal suitability.
Disposable lenses are designed for frequent replacement with a range of modalities available including, daily, fortnightly, monthly and extended wear.
Disposable lenses are available in a variety of designs, size ranges, and with varying water content to suit almost any prescription. They may also contain UV inhibitors, providing some UV protection for the eye.
Daily Disposable lenses deliver eye health benefits and offer convenience and flexibility. They are ideal for sports and occasional wear as they are simply worn once and then disposed of. There is no regular cleaning required.
Fortnightly and Monthly disposable lenses are the most common and cost effective modalities and offer greater convenience than conventional lenses as they are easier to care for.
Extended Wear lenses can be worn continuously for a period of up to 30 days. Made with a polymer which allows greater oxygen transmission to the eye, promoting a healthy eye, so these lenses can be worn for extended periods.
As an independent optometrist we have no restrictions or limitations on the products that we can provide for you. We are not tied into a contract, franchise or corporate restrictions to provide or promote a particular brand to all our patients.
But, as a member of the ProVision network we have access to some excellent exclusive products and the benefit of group purchasing.
